First-location setup checklist

The safe order to set up a new business and location, from account to a published QR code.

Requires Location Admin or Owner

Work through this list top to bottom. Each step links to a detailed guide.

  1. Create your account and business. Go to /signup, register with Google or email + password, then enter your Business name on the "Create my check-in page" screen. Choosing an Industry is optional — it pre-fills a sensible service list. (Details)
  2. Review location basics. In your location, open Settings and check Basics (name, contact) and Address & hours — including your Timezone, which drives ticket numbering, the daily quota's calendar day, and the times customers see.
  3. Choose what customers must provide. In Settings → Check-in options, review the email requirement (on by default — it powers the customer's tracking link), address requirement, and any public notice. (Details)
  4. Add or review services. In Settings → Your services, add what customers can pick, or load an industry template. (Details)
  5. Pick your queue workflow. In Settings → Queue workflow, keep the general flow or pick a preset (restaurant, counter, clinic, repair, pickup). (Details)
  6. Invite your team. In Settings → Team members, send email invites; add a shared front-desk login if you want one. (Details)
  7. Get your QR code. Open QR code in the sidebar — download the PNG/SVG or print the flyer. (Details)
  8. Optional: waiting-room screen. Open the Display board link and choose how names appear (ticket-number-only is the default and most private). (Details)
  9. Optional: resources or windows. Add rooms/equipment under Resources, or switch the location to windowed mode under Manage windows. (Resources · Windowed)
  10. Run a test check-in before you publish anything. (Details)
  11. Publish. Put the QR code at your entrance and share your check-in link.
