Work a window — claim, call next, breaks & shift end
The staff console for windowed locations, from taking a window to your last customer of the day.
Available to Staff (with a staff account at the location)
Select Windows in the sidebar to open your console.
Start your shift
Select Take Window 1 (or whichever is free). A window can only be held by one person; if a colleague just grabbed it, you'll be told and can pick another.
Serve customers
- Select Call next — the first person in line is called to your window, the now-serving board announces it, and their phone updates with "go to Window N".
- When they arrive, select Start serving. If they don't appear: No-show (frees you for the next call) or ↩ Back to queue (returns them to the front — maybe they stepped out).
- When finished, select Done, then Call next again.
You can also call a specific waiting person out of order with the Call button next to their line entry (only while you have no one at your window).
Breaks and ending your shift
- On break keeps your window reserved for you but stops it pulling customers; I'm back resumes.
- End shift releases the window for anyone else. If you're mid-customer, the console makes you finish (Done or No-show) first — no one gets silently abandoned.
If you walk away without ending your shift
The console quietly signals "I'm here" while it's open. If it goes silent (closed laptop, crashed browser), your window is marked away after a couple of minutes and released after about ten; a mid-service customer goes back to the front of the line and is simply called again by the next available window. Nothing is lost — but End shift is the polite exit.
